Hi, I’m Alyssa—the artist and heart behind Beautifully Broken.
This journey began as a shared passion between my husband and me, exploring the shores of Aruba and beyond for sea glass and other beach treasures. Each piece we found, once sharp and broken, had been transformed by the sea into something smooth, rare, and beautiful—much like life’s hardships can shape us into something new.
After losing my husband in December 2024, I returned to those same shores, searching not only for sea glass but for signs of healing, love, and connection. What I found inspired more than just art—it sparked the beginning of Beautifully Broken.
Today, I create one-of-a-kind pieces using sea glass from places filled with meaning. Every creation holds a story. Some feature rare colors with shades of turquoise and blue. Some include pottery, shells and driftwood. All are made with care, intention, and the belief that beauty can rise from brokenness.

When my husband passed away in December 2024, my world was shattered. In the quiet after the storm, I mustered up the courage to return to our favorite beach in Aruba. To the places we walked. To the glass we gathered.
Before I stepped onto the sand, I prayed for signs that Tony was still with me. I asked him for three signs: A sign that he loved me, a piece of blue sea glass and a red marble, both difficult, if not impossible, finds at this beach.
The first thing I picked up was a brown heart shaped piece of sea glass. Next, a large piece of blue sea glass. Finally, from the corner of my eye, I spotted something red. Sure enough, nestled in the sand, a tiny red marble!
After that visit I was inspired to create art from my sea glass so others could enjoy its beauty. These pieces aren’t just glass. They are proof of love that lives on. They are beautifully broken.
My art is my life line.
